November 12, 2020, FAIRVIEW, TX – Fairview Town Center will host a Candy Canes For Kids Drive-Thru Toy Drive, presented by Credit Union of Texas, on Saturday, November 21, 2020, at Fairview Town Center from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Candy Canes For Kids, which has become one of Collin County’s largest charity events by attendance (more than 20,000 attendees in 2019), is not possible in the normal event format for 2020, but the children served by Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County still need our help to have a great Holiday Season. New unwrapped toys and cash donations will be accepted.
“Even in these times of Covid 19, Fairview Town Center is committed to helping children in our community,” comments Wendy Ellis, CRX, CMD, Marketing Director, LPC Retail. “In seven years, Candy Canes For Kids has raised more than $250,000 and collected over 7,500 toys for victims of child abuse and neglect right here in Collin County. We have no intention of stopping and are looking forward to offering a safe drive-thru donation point that offers a few surprises too.” The event will feature celebrity toy collectors, the Goode Time Carolers (who will serenade those waiting to drop off donations), and costume characters that will be available for car selfies. In addition, the first 500 vehicles to donate valued at $25 or more, will receive a free reusable tote with goodies. Random prizes will be hidden in the totes.
Thanks to the generosity of our partners, 100% of the donations collected benefit Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County. “Giving back to our children in need is more important now than ever before. We are so proud to be a part of an event that allows for the community to contribute in a creative and meaningful way,” comments Eric Pointer, President & CEO, Credit Union of Texas – the presenting sponsor for the event. Credit Union of Texas will be collecting toys through November at the McKinney, Wylie, and Plano branches as well as at the corporate office in Allen. In addition, KLTY Radio will be supporting the event with promotion and air personality appearances.
In addition, the Creedon PLLC will also be participating, working to collect toys and sending out a challenge to all those in the legal profession in the DFW area to donate. “We are motivated by a deep desire to be part of something larger than us that will last far beyond our time on this planet, and we thrive on work which instills hope,” comments Charles Wallace of Creedon PLLC. We are so excited to get involved and help out children in need in our community.”
